Department of Physics

PHILOSOPHY

The Department runs a 4-year B.Sc. degree programme in Physics with three major options in Applied Geophysics, Electronics and Theoretical Physics. It also provides essential services to other academic fields, Specifically Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering, Agriculture and Education.

OBJECTIVES

The Physics programme is designed among others,

  • Equip our graduates with the concepts and skills in physics that are necessary tools in science and technology
  • To develop academic ability, creative thinking and power of imagination of the graduates and to instigate them to pursue research work in physics and related disciplines
  • To Embrace as many fields in allied disciplines as possible

  • Condensed Matter and Materials Physics
  • Energy Systems
  • Biophysics
  • Microfluidics and Microsystems
  • Optical Physics and Quantum Information Science
