Niger Delta University (NDU) Sandwich Degree Programme

The Niger Delta University (NDU) Sandwich Programme is designed to provide flexible learning opportunities for teachers and other working professionals

who wish to upgrade their qualifications while maintaining their employment. The programme runs under the Centre for Educational Services / Institute of

Continuing Education and is affiliated with the Faculty of Education.

Programme Overview

• The Sandwich Programme is conducted during long vacations (usually between July and September each year).

• It offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Bachelor of Arts (Education) [B.A.(Ed)], and Bachelor of Science (Education) [B.Sc.(Ed)] degrees.

• The programme provides a pathway for NCE and other qualified candidates to earn a university degree in education-related fields.

Duration of Study

• NCE Holders: Three (3) Long Vacation Contacts.

• SSCE / O-Level / ND Holders: Five (5) Long Vacation Contacts.

Each contact session runs for approximately 12 to 16 weeks during the long vacation period.

Admission Requirements

1. For NCE Holders:

- NCE with at least merit passes in two major subjects.

- Five (5) O-Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics.

2. For O-Level / SSCE / ND Holders:

- Five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

- Relevant credits in subjects related to the intended course of study.
