The Federal Road Safety Corps, Bayelsa State Sector Command, paid a courtesy visit to Niger Delta University yesterday, Thursday , 21st May 2026, to strengthen collaboration on road safety advocacy and public enlightenment.
Led by Sector Commander Corps Commander Silvanus Okey Ordu, the delegation formally introduced the new command leadership and the Special Marshal Unit in Bayelsa. The team included ACC Furo John Sepregha, CRC Mitema Amaseimogha, SRC Amaebi Dougha, SRC F.G. Joshua, and DRC Janet Kaka Obi.
During the visit, NDU officials including Vice Chancellor Prof. Allen A. Agih, DVC Academic Prof. Jonah Akekere, and Registrar Dr. Emmanuel Amaegbe were presented as Special Marshals alongside newly inducted members Dr. Boloumbele Yalah, Mr. Kenedy Sawyer Brambaifa, and Mr. Otobo Werinipre.
Corps Commander Ordu said the visit was to deepen FRSC’s partnership with NDU in promoting safer roads through campaigns, audits, and community engagement. Prof. Agih welcomed the delegation, commended FRSC’s work, and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to support through public sensitization on NDU radio and continued collaboration. He also noted the university’s recent donation of communication gadgets to aid FRSC operations.
The visit ended with both parties pledging to deepen cooperation in road safety training and community development.
