The Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, has hosted participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course 19 (EIMC 19) of the National Institute for Security Studies on a study tour to Bayelsa State.
The delegation visited the university as part of their academic theme: “Ethnic Militia and Resource Competition in Africa: Implications for National Security.”
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Allen A. Agih, welcomed the team and highlighted NDU’s academic structure, research strength, and innovation-driven initiatives across its 14 faculties and five research institutes.
He also emphasized the university’s focus on entrepreneurship, food security, and sustainable development through initiatives such as the Centre for Blue Economy Studies, ICT and Digital Skills Centre, and agricultural innovations.
The visiting delegation, led by Vivian O. Okpeh, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and insightful engagement.
The visit marks a step forward in strengthening collaboration between academia and national security institutions.
