Microcontrollers for Fingerprint Analysis: A Review

Abstract

This work appraises different microcontrollers for fingerprint analysis based on several composite parameters. The proliferation of microcontrollers in science, engineering, and research across academia and industry has made selecting the appropriate MCU increasingly challenging. Although the primary focus is on fingerprint analysis, this comprehensive examination of various microcontrollers serves as a valuable reference for selecting MCUs in the design of current and emerging engineering projects in IoT, smart homes, agricultural applications, control and automation systems, and more. An array of microcontrollers and manufacturers' data is scrutinized and presented in this document.
