4. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

(a) Postgraduate Diploma:


A candidate seeking admission to the PGD shall possess at least a pass degree in the relevant area and not lower than a lower credit in HND or equivalent qualification recognized by the Niger Delta University.

(b) Master of Science (M.Sc) Programme:


A candidate seeking admission to the Master of Science degree of Niger Delta University shall possess at least a Second Class (Lower) degree in the field or related field of study from a University recognized by the Niger Delta University. A Postgraduate Diploma with an average pass grade of B may be considered by the Department of Fisheries.

(c) Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Programme:


An applicant for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy programme shall possess at least an M.Sc degree with an average pass grade of B+ or 60% in the relevant field of study. A candidate with an M.Phil degree from a recognized University is also eligible for admission.

5. DURATION OF STUDY

(i) Postgraduate Diploma Programme


The minimum period of study shall be twelve (12) and maximum of twenty-four (24) calendar months respectively.

(ii) Master of Science Programme


The minimum period for the Master of Science degree programme shall be eighteen (18) calendar months and the maximum shall be thirty-six (36) months respectively.

(iii) Doctor of Philosophy Programme


The duration for the Doctor of Philosophy programme shall be a minimum of 36 (thirty-six) calendar months for the Full-Time student and 48 calendar months for the Part-Time student respectively.

6. VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE

In addition to the admission requirements as published, ALL candidates should please note that in accordance with the University regulations, they must satisfy the O’ Level requirements for matriculation into the first degree programs of the Niger Delta University i.e. Five Credit passes at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics (where required).


METHODS OF APPLICATION

PURCHASE OF APPLICATION FORM shall be through ONLINE ONLY

Candidates should complete the Application Forms and pay by taking the following steps:

Step 1: Log on to our application website: www.pgs.ndu.ac


Step 2: Create an online account. An e-mail will be sent with additional details including a system generated password.


Step 3: With the e-mail and password combination, applicants should sign in and accurately complete the application form.


Step 4: Applicants should upload the relevant documents in support of their application. The processes are as follows:


· Scan copy of University Degree Certificate;


· Scan copy of NYSC Discharge Certificate for all Nigerian citizens;


· Scan copy of O’ Level Result or its equivalent;


· The original Transcript obtained from the applicant’s University should be transmitted directly to Niger Delta University. Any transcript sent directly by the applicant invalidates the application into the University’s Postgraduate School.

Step 5: Register two referees. An e-mail will be sent to them for the completion of the Referee Form.


Step 6: Download Transcript Request Form to send to your former and current institutions.


Step 7: Pay for your Application Form online by using your Credit/Debit Cards or purchase an NDU Post Graduate e-pin from either Diamond Bank or Skye Bank. The application fee is N10,000.00 for Nigerian citizens. Foreign applicants’ application fee is US$120.00 payable via Credit Card (MasterCard or Visa) or by purchasing an e-pin from ShareIt. All payments are exclusive of processor fees.


Step 8: Submit your completed application by typing your name on the electronic signature field.

Closing date for the submission of forms is November 24, 2011.
